Organetto and Organini, 2019
Organetto and Organini, is a site specific installation on a brick wall of an ancient abandoned chapel in Santa Caterina, Venice.
Organetto is s sculpture entirely hand-sewn, formed by small cotton pillows and Organini are a series of framed canvases, crafted from recycled advertising materials.
The aim is to infuse organic life into the wall, creating a piece that incorporates materials like cotton and recycling, emphasizing the importance of craftsmanship and sustainability.
Sewing is my favorite form of materialization. I belive manual and traditional work have a considerable value in the contemporary production of art.
Sewing is repetition: whether it is the hand or the sewing machine.
This is the fun thing about it: to become as meticulous as possible to ensure good stitching and embroidery.
